Officially VBAC Certified!!!
Ahhhh! Great news!!! I am so proud and excited to share that I am officially a VBAC Certified Doula through The VBAC Link!
This certification is deeply meaningful to me because I am a two-time home VBAC (HBAC) mama myself. After experiencing a cesarean birth with my first baby, I went on to have two healing, redemptive, and empowering VBAC births. Those experiences transformed the way I viewed birth, my body, and the incredible strength it takes for women to birth their babies.
As a doula serving families since 2022 through A Joyful Blessing Birth Services, I’ve had the honor of supporting many first-time and seasoned mothers throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. But over the past few years, I began to recognize how many women who have previously experienced cesarean births truly desire a different experience for future births.
Many VBAC mothers are searching for more than just “having a vaginal birth.” They are seeking healing. Connection to God. Confidence. Evidence-based information. Trust in God’s design for physiological childbirth. Supportive providers. A deeper understanding of their options. And often, they are looking for someone who can walk with them without fear-based messaging, but instead with education, encouragement, and informed support.
One thing I have learned in birth work is that many families simply do not realize how many options they actually have. They may not know how to find a provider that truly supports physiological birth or VBAC. They may not know what questions to ask during prenatal appointments. They may not fully understand the evidence-based statistics surrounding VBAC or what factors can contribute to a successful and supported birth experience.
Through this certification, I have gained additional tools, education, resources and confidence in how I approach VBAC support. I now feel even more equipped to help families navigate conversations surrounding VBAC, build a supportive birth team, understand their rights and choices, and make informed decisions that align with their values and desires for birth.
I strongly believe that informed families are empowered families.
Whether a mother chooses a hospital birth, birth center birth, or home birth, my goal is never to pressure or persuade, but to educate, support, and provide resources so families can confidently make the best decisions for themselves and their babies.
As someone who has personally walked the journey from c-section birth to HBAC, I understand both the emotional and physical layers that can come with preparing for a VBAC. I know the fears, the questions, the surrender, and the incredible strength it takes to pursue a birth after cesarean. And it is truly an honor to now serve VBAC families in an even deeper capacity through this certification.
To every VBAC mama preparing for birth: you deserve compassionate support, evidence-based education, and care providers who truly listen to you. Your story matters, your choices matter, and you are worthy of feeling informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way.
I cannot wait to continue supporting growing families (VBAC Families included) in this work that I love so much!
